Bishop Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian Visits Labour Camp at Sharjah

Life in a labour camp to support families back in their own land is not a comfortable or easy task. Rt. Rev. Dr Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian, the Bishop in the Madhya Kerala Diocese, who is on a visit to Sharjah to lead the Confirmation service in Sharjah also visited a few labour camps in Sajja. There is a constant effort from the members of the CSI Parish, Sharjah to bring the labourers from these camps to the Sunday Worship in the church and arrange Christmas programme for them. There is a weekly prayer conducted for the believers in the camp. Bishop Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian personally met many of the members of the camp and prayed for them. A couple of Telugu-speaking members were excited to see Bishop talking to them in fluent Telugu and praying for them in their own language. Bishop congratulated the members of the CSI Parish, Sharjah for their efforts to take up this mission and encouraged them to strengthen this ministry. Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, the Vicar of CSI Parish in Sharjah and Mr. Jens T. John and Mr. Sam K. John, the members of the Parish, accompanied the bishop on the visit.

തങ്ങളുടെ കുടുംബത്തിനായി അത്യദ്ധ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ ലേബർ ക്യാംപിലെ ജീവിതം അത്ര സുകരമല്ല. ചുരുങ്ങിയ സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ കഴിയുന്ന അവരെ കാണുവാൻ ഷാർജ സി. എസ്. ഐ. പാരീഷിലെ സ്ഥിരീകരണ ശുശ്രൂഷയ്ക്കായി എത്തിയ മധ്യകേരള മഹായിടവക ബിഷപ് മലയിൽ സാബു കോശി ചെറിയാൻ പ്രത്യേക താല്പര്യമെടുത്തു. ഷാർജ സി.എസ്.ഐ. പാരിഷിലെ അംഗങ്ങൾ ഇവർക്ക് ആരാധനയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാനുള്ള ക്രമീകരണങ്ങൾ ചെയ്‌യുകയും ക്യാമ്പിൽ ക്രിസ്മസ് ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ നടത്താറുമുണ്ട്. ക്യാംപിലെ വിശ്വാസികൾക്കായി എല്ലാ ചൊവ്വാഴ്ചയും പ്രാർത്ഥനാകൂട്ടായ്മയുമുണ്ട്. ബിഷപ് ക്യാംപിലെ പലരെയും സന്ദർശിക്കുകയും അവർക്കായി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ചില തെലുങ്ക് സഹോദരങ്ങളുമായി ബിഷപ് അവരുടെ ഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുകയുമുണ്ടായി. ഷാർജ സി.എസ്.ഐ. പാരീഷിലെ അംഗങ്ങളെ ബിഷപ് അഭിനന്ദിക്കുകയും ഈ സുവിശേഷദൗത്യം കൂടുതൽ ശക്തമാക്കണമെന്ന്‌ നിർദേശിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇടവക വികാരി റവ. സുനിൽ രാജ് ഫിലിപ്പ്, സഭാംഗങ്ങളായ ശ്രീ. ജെൻസ് ടി. ജോൺ, ശ്രീ. സാം കെ. ജോൺ എന്നിവർ ബിഷപ്പിനെ ഈ സന്ദർശനത്തിൽ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
