Social Board

Duties of the Board

(a) To promote and develop the cooperative movement in villages throughout the Diocese.

(b) exercise general supervision and control over the technical schools connected with the Diocese.

(c) To strengthen and encourage industrial and social activities in the Diocese.

(d) prepare and submit to the Board of Finance an annual budget of the amount necessary for the working expenses of the Board.

(e) Appoint managers of technical schools and vocational schools in the Diocese.

Dalit & Adivasi Concerns Committee

Duties of the Committee

(a) Work towards the holistic development of Dalit and Tribal Christians.

(b) To work hand in hand with other churches to obtain due rights and entitlements from Central and State Governments.

Bishop Moore Higher Secondary School, Mavelikara

Bishop Moore Vidyapith, Mavelikara, is named after Edward Alfred Livings Tone Moore (1925 – 1937), the fourth Anglican Bishop of the erstwhile Diocese of Travancore Cochin and is managed by the CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese which is a minority community enjoying protection and sanction under the Indian constitution to run educational institutions of its choice for its members and other not opposed to Christian ideals. The school makes no discrimination whatsoever in terms of caste, religion or background of its pupils.

The Aim

• To impart a fully disciplined liberal and comprehensive education to both boys and girls; to enable them to achieve a very high standard of intellectual, physical and spiritual development in the background of the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of our nation, so that they may discharge the duties as upright citizens of our democratic country without fear or favour in the 21st century.
• To develop the talents of the pupils.
• To inculcate a sense of consciousness, a sense of dignity of labour and concern for the downtrodden and the suffering ones in the minds of the pupils so that they may become instruments of social change.
• To keep the pupils informed of what is happening in the world around and prepare them for a purposeful life.
• To cultivate in the pupils the motivation to undertake national tasks and enable them to participate in the shaping of a new humanity.
• To teach values of the life and to promote a sense of national integration.
• In short we aim at intellectually mature, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired young men and women having a deep sense of values and concern for national integration who can play an effective role in the 21st century in the background of the rich heritage of our democratic motherland.

The Vidyapith is co-educational and partly residential.
