The CMS College, Kottayam is the first college in India founded in 1817. The college is now one of the largest colleges in Kerala with 23 departments offering 47 courses for 2521 students, 138 teaching faculty members and 35 administrative staffs. Deeply rooted in Kottayam and dedicated to its mission, the CMS College is one of the top colleges in Kerala.

Two hundred years is but a tiny drop in the unceasing flow of cosmic time. On the human scale, however, it amounts to a life span of about ten generations. Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara
Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara, a premier educational institution of the CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese in Alapuzha district, was started in 1964 as a junior college. Rt. Rev. M.M. John, Bishop of the Diocese and founder Manager, named the college after the Rt. Rev. Edward Alfred Livingstone Moore, who was the fourth Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Travancore and Cochin. Rev. K. C Mathew was the founder Principal.
The motto of the college is The Truth Shall Make You Free. The founding fathers of the college had expressed their vision of inspiring everyone who leaves the portals of the college to be the light of the world. The mission of the college is to build up young men and women who will uphold moral values and strive for excellence in every field of life by inculcating high ethical standards and developing a genuine sense of service to the Nation. The Centre for Inter Disciplinary Research established by the management coordinates various major and minor research projects and has already entered into collaborative research programmes with the Techniche Univerisitat, Germany.
The College has achieved ranks at the University Examinations and the NCC cadets have attended the Republic Day Parade and one woman cadet visited Vietnam under the student exchange program. Thus the college caters to the all round development of the students.

Baker College for Women, Kottayam
Baker College for Women, Kottayam, was established in 2014 as part of the Bicentenary celebrations commemorating the arrival of CMS Missionaries in Kerala. The college is a tribute to three generations of women educators of the Baker family. Amelia Dorothea Baker, wife of Rev. Henry Baker Sr., lit the lamp of Women's education in India when she educated six girls at her residence in 1820. From these humble informal settings, stemmed Baker School that paved the way for the present institutions on Baker Hill. The Baker Institutions of the CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese are visible testimonies of the concern and efforts of the Diocese towards empowerment of women through education.

A long cherished dream to establish a higher education institution in Punnakkad, Pathanamthitta district came true when the C.S.I. Madhya Kerala Diocese established C.S.I. College for Advanced Studies in the year 2022.
