Palani Mission

Palani Hills Mission was initiated by the Madhya Kerala Diocese of the CSI in 2014 with the help of the CSI Madurai- Ramnad Diocese. This mission field has its centre at Perumkad, about 22 km from Kodaikanal. Perumkad and adjoining areas such as Alathura, Kizhakkumedu, and J. Nagar are underdeveloped villages where missionaries of the Palani Mission serve for the betterment of the education of tribal children. As part of this ministry, tuition classes are also being conducted every evening. And arrangements were already made for Sunday school and home worship on Sundays. Now the mission is entering a new phase of its growth. The foundation stone of the new church and mission house at the Mission Center was laid by Madhya Kerala Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr Malayil Sabu Koshi Cherian on the 22nd of August. Construction of these buildings is progressing at a rapid pace. Mr John Kurien a member of Punnakkad St.Thomas CSI Church, and his family kindly gave financial support for this project.
