Uttarakhand Mission
Uttarakhand Mission
The Uttarakhand Mission was started in 2005 with a specific focus on the expansion of the Mission work of the Madhya Kerala Diocese in North India. The mission works are mainly centred at Dehradun, Saharanpur District and Pahadi villages of Masras and Patti. Though it has been more than 17 years since its establishment, the mission works are still in their infancy due to the strong opposition from extremists. However, the mission has made progress in spreading the gospel and developmental services. At present, 12 tuition centres are functioning with nearly 125 children. The tuition classes are arranged at the houses of each teacher. Apart from this, two computer centres and one tailoring centre are also functioning. We also have two local missionaries working in the District of Saharanpur with two worship centres. At present, the mission centres are functioning within rented buildings for both residence and mission activities. A five-cent land plot was bought for the mission a few years back.
