The Madhya Kerala Diocese Executive Committee, which convened on April 14, 2025, has resolved to celebrate this year’s Diocesan Day on Friday, July 25, 2025, with due solemnity and thanksgiving.
During the preparatory meeting held on May 27, 2025, the following decisions were taken:
- Zonal Conferences
The Diocese has been divided into four zones, each comprising three Clergy districts. Special zonal conferences will be held on the dates mentioned below:
Zone 1 – Adoor, Kodukulanji, Mavelikara
📅 July 12 (Saturday)
Zone 2 – Tiruvalla, Kumplampoyika, Elanthoor
📅 July 5 (Saturday)
Zone 3 – Mundakayam, Punnavely, Mallappally
📅 July 13 (Sunday)
Zone 4 – Ettumanoor, Pallom, Kottayam
📅 July 19 (Saturday), 3:00 PM
The Main Meeting will be held at Kottayam on July 25 (Friday).
- Planning Meetings
Preliminary planning meetings for each zone will be held on June 6 (Friday) at 3:00 PM, under the leadership of the respective district chairpersons. All clergy, church workers, district secretaries, wardens, church secretaries, and Council members are expected to attend.
Meeting Venues:
Zone 1: Mavelikara
Zone 2: Pathanamthitta
Zone 3: Kanam
Zone 4: Kottayam (Cathedral)
- District & Parish-Level Meetings
Prior to the zonal conferences, each district is encouraged to conduct its own district-level meetings led by the respective District Chairpersons. Before these, parish-level gatherings, including sub-congregations, may also be organized by vicars and parish leadership.
- Observance on Diocesan Day (July 25)
On Diocesan Day, all churches and diocesan institutions are to hoist the Diocesan flag. This shall be followed by gathered thanksgiving at the Diocesan headquarters involving clergy, church workers, sisters, and members of the faith community. A public meeting will be held in the afternoon.
- Leadership & Coordination
To oversee the celebrations, the Executive Committee has appointed a Special Coordination Committee with the following leadership:
Chairman: Rt. Rev. Dr. Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian (Bishop)
Conveners: Rev. Aniyan K. Paul (Clergy Secretary), Adv. Stephen J. Daniel (Laity Secretary)
Finance Convener: Rev. Jiji John Jacob (Diocesan Treasurer)
Publicity Convener: Adv. Sheeba Tharakan (Registrar)
