റവ. ഡോ. പ്രിൻസ്റ്റോൺ ബെൻ ദക്ഷിണ കേരള മഹായിടവകയുടെ 7ാമത് ബിഷപ്പായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു: സ്ഥാനാഭിഷേക ശുശ്രുഷ നാളെ ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 1 ന് എം.എം. കത്തീഡ്രൽ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ
ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യാ സഭ (CSI) ദക്ഷിണ കേരള മഹായിടവകയുടെ ബിഷപ്പ് ഡിസിഗ്നേറ്റ് റവ. ഡോ. പ്രിൻസ്റ്റോൺ ബെൻ 1964 മെയ് 30-ന് തിരുവനന്തപുരം ജില്ലയിലെ കൊട്ടുക്കൽ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ജനിച്ചു. സി.എസ്.ഐ സഭയിൽ സജീവമായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു വിശ്വാസപാരമ്പര്യമുള്ള കുടുംബത്തിലാണ് അദ്ദേഹം വളർ ന്നത്.
തിരുവനന്തപുരം യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് ബി.എ., കേരള യൂണൈറ്റഡ് തിയോളജിക്കൽ സെമിനാരിയിൽ നിന്ന് ബി.ഡി. എന്നിവ നേടിയ അദ്ദേഹം പിന്നീട് ബാംഗ്ലൂർ, ചിക്കാഗോ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് എം.റ്റിഎച് ., എം.എ.ടി.എസ്., റ്റി എച് .എം., പി.എച്ച്.ഡി. എന്നീ ഉയർന്ന പഠനങ്ങൾ പൂർത്തിയാക്കി.
1990-ൽ വൈദികനായി അഭിഷിക്തനായ അദ്ദേഹം വിവിധ ഇടവകകളിൽ ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു. ഗുജറാത്തിലെ ഭിൽ ആദിവാസി സമൂഹങ്ങളിൽ മിഷനറിയായി സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുകയും നിരവധി ആരാധനാ സമൂഹങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
ദക്ഷിണ കേരള മഹായിടവകയുടെ മിഷൻ ബോർഡ് ഡയറക്ടർ, യൂണിയൻ ബൈബിളിക്കൽ സെമിനാരി, പൂനെയിലെ അധ്യാപകനും ഡീനുമായും, സി.എസ്.ഐ സിനഡിന്റെ പാസ്റ്ററൽ കൺസേൺസ് ഡയറക്ടറായും സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. സി.എസ്.ഐയുടെ 2020–2030 മിഷൻ മുൻഗണനകൾ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിലും പങ്കുവഹിച്ചു.
2025-ൽ ദക്ഷിണ കേരള മഹായിടവകയുടെ വൈസ് ചെയർമാനായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. God in Times of Pandemic (2022), A Womanist Reading of Her Revolt (2025) എന്നീ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളുടെ രചയിതാവാണ്.
ഭാര്യ ബീന പ്രിൻസ്റ്റൺ. രണ്ട് മക്കളും കൊച്ചു മക്കളുമടങ്ങിയ അനുഗ്രഹീതമായ കുടുംബജീവിതമാണ്.
ബിഷപ്പ് ഡിസിഗ്നേറ്റ് റവ. ഡോ. പ്രിൻസ്റ്റോൺ ബെന്റെ സ്ഥാനാരോഹണ ശുശ്രൂഷ 2026 മാർച്ച് 22-ന് ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 1:00 മണിക്ക് തിരുവനന്തപുരം സി.എസ്.ഐ. എം.എം. കത്തീഡ്രൽ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നതാണ്.
Rev. Dr. Prinstone Ben, Bishop Designate of the Church of South India, South Kerala Diocese, was born on May 30, 1964, in Kottukal, Thiruvananthapuram. He was raised in a committed CSI Christian family and was nurtured in faith and church leadership from an early age.
He holds a B.A. from University College, Thiruvananthapuram, a B.D. from Kerala United Theological Seminary, and advanced degrees (M.Th., MATS, Th.M., Ph.D.) from institutions in Bangalore and Chicago. His doctoral work focused on mission and social justice.
Ordained as a presbyter in 1990, he served in several parishes and as a missionary among Bhil tribal communities in Gujarat, where he established worshipping communities and mission centers.
He has held key leadership roles including Director of the Board for Mission (South Kerala Diocese), faculty and dean at Union Biblical Seminary, Pune, and Director of the Department of Pastoral Concerns, CSI Synod. He also contributed to shaping CSI’s mission priorities (2020–2030).
In 2025, he was elected Vice Chairman of the South Kerala Diocese. He is also an author, with notable works including God in Times of Pandemic (2022) and A Womanist Reading of Her Revolt (2025). He is married to Mrs. Beena Prinstone, and they are blessed with two children and grandchildren.
The Consecration Service of the Bishop Designate, Rev. Dr. Prinstone Ben, will be held on 22 March 2026 at 1:00 PM at CSI M.M. Cathedral, Thiruvananthapuram.
