Rev. Dr. C. I. David Joy appointed as President of the Senate of Serampore University

സെനറ്റ് ഓഫ് സെറാംപ്പൂർ സർവകലാശാലയുടെ പുതിയ പ്രസിഡന്റായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട റവ. ഡോ. സി. ഐ. ഡേവിഡ് ജോയിയെ സി. എസ്. ഐ മദ്ധ്യകേരള മഹായിടവക ഹൃദയപൂർവ്വം അഭിനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
1818-ൽ, പശ്ചിമ ബംഗാളിലെ ഡാനിഷ് കോളനിയായ സെറാംപ്പൂർ സെനറ്റ് ഓഫ് സെരാമ്പോർ കോളേജ് സ്ഥാപിതമായി.
ജാതി-മത-വർണ്ണ ഭേദമന്യേ ഇന്ത്യൻ യുവജനങ്ങൾക്ക് കലയും ശാസ്ത്രവും പഠിപ്പിക്കാനും, ഇന്ത്യ, ബംഗ്ലാദേശ്, ശ്രീലങ്ക, നേപ്പാൾ എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ സഭകൾക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നൽകുന്ന നേതാക്കളെ തയ്യാറാക്കാനും വേണ്ടി ഈ കോളേജ് രൂപപ്പെട്ടു.
ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ സർവകലാശാലയായി അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ട സെറാംപ്പൂർ സർവകലാശാല, ദൈവശാസ്ത്രവും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവും നൽകുന്ന ഒരു മഹത്തായ കേന്ദ്രമായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.
റവ. ഡോ. ഡേവിഡ് ജോയ് നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ വരുന്നത് സർവകലാശാലയ്ക്ക് വലിയ അനുഗ്രഹമാണ്.
റവ. ഡോ. ഡേവിഡ് ജോയ് ഇപ്പോൾ തിരുവനന്തപുരം കേരള യുണൈറ്റഡ് തിയോളജിക്കൽ സെമിനാരിയിൽ പ്രിൻസിപ്പാളായി സേവനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
മഹായിടവകയുടെ എല്ലാവിധ ആശംസകളും അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങളും അറിയിക്കുന്നു.

Established in 1818 in the Danish settlement of Serampore, West Bengal, the Senate of Serampore College was founded with the vision of imparting education in arts and sciences to Indian youth, without distinction of caste, colour, or race, and of preparing leaders for churches in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
Recognised as India’s first university, Serampore University continues to stand as a beacon of theological and academic excellence. The University is richly blessed to have a gracious and multi-gifted leader at its helm in Rev. Dr. David Joy — a respected scholar, visionary, transformative leader, dedicated minister, and compassionate pastor.
Rev. Dr. David Joy currently serves as the Principal of Kerala United Theological Seminary, Thiruvananthapuram.
