Baker Memorial preprimary Training Institute Kottayam is a well equipped with modern infrastructure in a marvelous and bustling campus. Situated in the verdant Baker Hill complex in the heart of Kottayam town, it boasts of excellent modern infrastructure of ample space.

Owned and administered by the Madhya Kerala Diocese of the Church of South India, BMPTTI is a pioneer institute of its kind in the state.

It started in 1930 by a visionary British Lady, Miss M E East with the aim of imparting holistic development training to preprimary children. The institute has completed more than 9 decades of highly rewarding teaching and learning techniques. It acquired the Kerala Government recognition in 2005. This also became the first institute in Kottayam District to conduct training course for preschool teachers with the approval of Kerala Government Education Department SCERT.
